At the Torre del Nera, guests also become a bit of a villager. The hotel has a special architectural feature. It was not built specifically for its purpose. It is made up of houses that were already in the village of Scheggino. Guests therefore stroll from their room through the village over cobblestones to the hotel restaurant La Locanda del Cavaliere or to the stone-carved spa with heated pool, sauna and salt room. In order to remain as authentic as possible, the historic houses of the picturesque village have been restored in keeping with Umbrian traditions.

Where exactly are we? Somewhere between Rome and Rimini on a hill in one of Umbria’s many beautiful villages. Far away from everything that worries us in a place of peace and contemplation. Perhaps even in another time? If you close your eyes, you can hear the chatter of the villagers, the rippling of the river, the sound of the wind, the silence of the woods, and perhaps even the rattling of a horse-drawn cart?
