1,500 delicacies, including 100 sausages, the hymn-praised South Tyrolean bacon and 90 cheeses from South Tyrol and Italy.
The butchery
The “Butchery G. Siebenförcher” has been a gourmet’s paradise in Merano since 1930. The family-run butchery is in its third-generation and a popular culinary venue among locals and guests.
The specialty butcher & delicatessen in the Upper Arbors of Meran is led by Heidi and Daniela Siebenförcher.
The boutique hotel
Since 2018 the family also runs a boutique hotel under the arcades: the “SuiteSeven Stadthotel”. The twelve suites show the fine taste of the passionate hosts. Situated in a medieval building the charm of the past has a rendezvous with contemporary design. Each room shows its own individuality thanks to Italian design classics and objects by international labels. Mixed in is a little twist of flamboyance.
Not far from the Kurhaus and the thermal baths at the „Therme Merano”, the hotel also scores with its location.
The city
South Tyrol is always worth a trip – and especially so in autumn. The mild weather and fresh mountain air are a blessing for every tourists. Merano is one of the few places where you can take a stroll on the sunny promenade lined with palm trees – as well as climb a 3.000 meter peak. Empress Sissi was very fond of the spa town and attracted the European nobility. If the SuiteSeven would have been an option, the Empress would certainly have honoured it with a visit. She would have especially enjoyed the Sissi terrace of the hotel.
Whether it’s an aperitivo, an espresso or delicacies from the kitchen – the SuiteSeven Café-Lounge and Terrazza under the arcades in the historic center of Merano is the place to meet.
