The OLM has been welcoming guests to the Taufer Valley in South Tyrol since December. It is not only the architecture that is innovative, but also the forward-looking culinary concept.
The OLM’s guiding principle is to offer guests a relaxed vacation experience. This is also reflected in the gastronomy, which completely breaks away from the traditional half-board. And with the highest quality! OLM head chef Berni Aichner, for many years sous-chef to star chef Norbert Niederkofler, has developed a very special concept together with star chef Theodor Falser (Engel, Welschenofen) as a consultant.
Guests book rooms with breakfast consisting of hand-picked, local products with a high organic content, home-made or from regional manufacturers. They are also free to choose: Depending on their mood, they can either enjoy individual “dine-around” in the region or use the kitchenette in their apartment to prepare their own meals, with a specialty store in the house offering appropriate shopping options.
Or you can be inspired by the culinary calendar of the OLM kitchen with its seasonal, South Tyrolean-Mediterranean specialties, which you will receive around two weeks before your arrival. The perfect way to get in the mood for enjoyable evenings during your stay according to your individual wishes.
Berni Aichner also invites guests twice a week to an exclusive themed evening with a creative tasting menu. “Best of South Tyrol” with a good pinch of Italy is the motto of the wine list, which is of course also excellently stocked to match the cuisine.
Noble alpine character for urban time-outs
The 33 residential units of the OLM Eco-Aparthotel, which has an architecturally revolutionary circular design and is completely self-sufficient in terms of energy, are embedded in warm solid wood and convey the cozy atmosphere of a modern alpine pasture. Large glass fronts open up a view of the picturesque landscape of the Ahrntal Valley from the bed. 80 percent of the apart-suites have a kitchenette as well as their own sauna and free-standing bathtub, both of which once again offer an impressive mountain panorama.
In some of the suites, there are separable work areas so that you can work from home in the South Tyrolean mountains for a while. Guests with dogs will find their perfect vacation home in the apartments directly facing the alpine meadows.
The 60-meter inner circle of the apart-hotel is designed as a wild relaxation garden with a natural bathing pond in keeping with the eco concept. Thanks to the hotel’s own electricity, guests can also bathe with a clear conscience in the year-round heated sports pool, which is more than 25 m long and extends from the indoor sauna and relaxation rooms into the open air.
