After numerous successful professional years in renowned workplaces, Verena Wohlkönig and Jürgen Hamberger came together in 2021 to make their shared vision of reduced, authentic and timeless design a reality. Since then, Mezza-Maiso has been dedicated to creating unique spaces, objects and places. Despite its young history, the interdisciplinary bureau for interior architecture, interiors and design can already look back on a number of renowned projects such as the Burgenland boutique hotel “NILS am See” and “Bel Etage”, a high-end private apartment in the Erste. As part of the Vienna Design Week, interested parties can now immerse themselves in the work of the designers for the first time and gain an exclusive insight into their studio.

The work of Mezza-Maiso not only encompasses all disciplines of interior design, the bureau also offers collectibles – unique collector’s items such as solitaire furniture, accessories and lighting. The exclusive objects are curated from the repertoire of national and international designers and brands, produced in cooperation or designed by the Bureau itself and produced as limited editions in single and small series production. The latest collectible is a special edition of the “Gropius Lounge Chair” by the Ukrainian brand NOOM, designed by Mezza-Maiso in collaboration with NOOM’s founder and designer Kateryna Sokolova, which will premiere in Vienna on September 22.

In the context of an Open Studio during the Vienna Design Week, the Bureau opens its doors to the public for the first time. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to meet the founders and the team of Mezza-Maiso as well as Kateryna Sokolova, to ask questions to the experts and to experience selected collectibles up close. In addition to the “Gropius Lounge Chair”, “Table-Vienne”, a solid wood table by Mezza- Maiso, and other limited edition pieces will be on display in the studio. We recommend: Be sure to stop by!
