Hippie Heart & Handmade Heritage with Voglauer

Tiles made from coconut shells and bamboo beds with red feet? Some projects are a first even for a company with 90 years of experience. For example, the furnishing of the recently opened Bikini Island und Mountain Hotels Es Trenc in Mallorca. Instead of the usual modern alpine flair, the production facility of the Austrian hotel furnishing company Voglauer was transformed into a colourful place with boho vibes for this project.

No, you’re not in the Caribbean here – even if the famous postcard-perfect Es Trenc beach and the Spanish language might initially give you that impression. It’s the vegetation that makes you realise you’re on an island in Europe. Colònia de Sant Jordi is the name of the coastal town where a hotel from the 1960s once stood – now home to the Bikini Island & Mountain Hotel Es Trenc.

A touch of 60s chic remains: generous floral patterns, lush plants, a love of colour, retro flair and a feeling for the next decade pervade the entire house. Here you can be free, take your shoes off, enjoy the creative details and let your inner hippie out. The wonderfully unconventional, wild design comes from DREIMETA. Voglauer was responsible for furnishing the 118 rooms and parts of the public area.

The traditional company from Abtenau supplied the entire carpentry package – a customised ensemble made of bamboo wood. From the striking headboard of the beds to minibar shelves, washbasins and wall shelves to column cubes and round presentation tables in the shop and lobby area – each piece of furniture is unique, combining form, function and imagination. The reception area was clad with delicate wooden mosaic tiles – made from the shells of coconuts. A natural eye-catcher that combines tropical flair with handcrafted finesse.

About Voglauer

The fact that it not only looks good here, but also feels good, is perhaps due to the sea air, but certainly also to Voglauer‘s sensitivity and experience. For generations, the company has stood for natural materials, well thought-out concepts and precision craftsmanship. But Voglauer can do far more than just furniture: the range extends from customised interior design solutions to holistic room concepts for hotels and spa areas, from the initial idea to the final assembly. Regardless of whether it is a classic country hotel in the Alps or a more exotic design hotel on Mallorca.
