Harlequin is collaborating with fashion designer Henry Holland to present a light and informal collection of fabrics and wallpapers with an artistic edge. The colour worlds of Harlequin and selected elements from the archive have been combined with Henry Holland’s love of the Japanese pottery technique Nerikomi.
Some of the fabrics and wallpapers feature organic shapes and interplay of lines, others structured patterns and graphic elements. The colour palette ranges from earthy tones to muted blues and pinks. All of these are elements from Henry Hollands work with ceramics and can be found in the collection in fabrics, weaves and embroideries. Henry Holland’s work is realised in an unprecedented way in this collection, wallpapers and textured fabrics for curtains and upholstery envelop interiors with layers of organic design. All fabrics and wallpapers are made in the UK.
The collection’s wide range of colours can be used in a variety of ways to create personal and characterful looks. The colour palette claims to be universal and easy to use. I can’t wait to see how the collection is used in interiors
Henry Holland
Southborough – Rose
Southborough is an embroidered ombré chevron pattern that echoes the colour tones of Henry Holland’s clay work. Southborough envelops interiors with deepening shades of rose, chocolate, matcha and pacific. The colours intensify as the ombré progresses.
Elsworthy – Moss
Elsworthy is a moiré-style wallpaper with a silk embossing that conveys the feeling of fabric on the wall and the subtle and organic formations of the moiré character.
Blenets Check Mini – Chocolate
Blenets Check Mini is a statement. The interlock fabric features tightly woven blocks of colour in a checkerboard pattern. Textured and simple, each colour variation of Blenets Check Mini feels understated yet sublime.
Great Hey – Matcha
This jacquard cotton velvet in a ladder pattern elegantly places Henry’s characteristic ‘h’ in a formation, making it appear almost hidden in the fabric.
