Domenico Clerico presents the designer labels that make the limited edition Arte Langhe Rosso Doc unique. Artistic labels and maximum customization makes the Domenico Clerico L’Arte Langhe Rosso DOC even more unique and precious, the ultimate expression of this type of wine.
And this is the aim of the Arte Edizione Limitata project, promoted by the historic winery of the Langhe, one of the most esteemed producers of Barolo, which wanted to combine the art of making wine, the art of the winery, with art in its utmost connotation, through painting and mixed techniques to create unique labels.
The labels of the last “Arte Limited Edition 2020” were designed by the artists Bruno Murialdo and Paolo Baraldi. This year, however, the winners of the first edition of the Domenico Clerico Award, established by the company in collaboration with the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin to promote and support young talent, are being realized. Eleonora Ballario and Francisca Jitaru, artists of ten different labels, five for each, which express the personality of Domenico Clerico’s Arte Langhe Rosso DOC with an original and meaningful quality.
Ten small illustrated works
Ten small illustrated works, from which it will be possible to choose to customize the three litre bottle of Arte Langhe Rosso DOC 2019, limited to 300 bottles and available exclusively by reservation. In fact, the customer will find a configurator on the company website that allows you to choose not only your favourite artistic label, but every detail of the bottle, such as the colour of the sealing wax, and the inscription to be inserted on the back of the label. The most popular work of each artist will be exhibited in the cellar.
“Domenico Clerico was a visionary – says his wife Giuliana Clerico – a free spirit who loved to try his hand at new adventures. In his own way he was a wine artist. And it is precisely to remember this trait of his personality that this prize was born, the aim of which is to stimulate the creativity of young people and support them in their professional career, thanks to the scholarship we have created.”
For Oscar Arrivabene, winemaker and director of the winery, “Arte is a wine which has its own signature style, different in each vintage and not replicable, just as the work of the artists is not replicable. A wine that well represents Domenico Clerico, an eclectic man, innovator and visionary, in the vineyard, in the cellar and above all in life”.
“The Albertina Academy is delighted to have participated in this award which represents an opportunity for our students for training and growth outside the classrooms of the school. The creativity of the new generation – who not only study painting, sculpture and engraving at the Academy, but also photography, digital art, artistic planning for business, design and decoration, and new technology – can bring a new vision to a product of great quality like the wine of the Domenico Clerico winery”, says Paola Gribaudo, President of the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin.

Eleonora Ballarrio
Born in 1999 in a small town in Cuneo.
“I don’t remember the exact moment that I picked up a pencil for the first time. I think it was natural, like breathing. Art has always been my safe haven, a parallel world in which to immerse myself when reality did not reflect my imagination.“
Eleonora has cultivated her passion by following a study course linked to creativity and culture. Today she attends the Albertina Academy in Turin and cannot imagine her future outside these two areas.
Francisca Jitaru
Born in Romania in 1995, from an early age she has always had a particular inclination for drawing.
“I prefer to use paper with tempera and watercolours, even though I really love experimenting with different techniques and modes of expression. In the years to come, I hope to have the opportunity to try new and stimulating techniques to enrich my creative language.”
Currently, Francisca is attending the three year Graphic Art course at the Albertina Academy in Turin, which is useful for acquiring the foundations for a career in the art world.
