Carved in stone: Wellness at the Torre del Nera

You don’t need great adventures or well-known destinations to find yourself. It is often the tranquil places that lead to unexpected depths and give us inner peace. Take Scheggino, for example. The medieval village lies somewhere between Rome and Rimini in the centre of Italy in fairytale Umbria. Some of the stone houses belong to the Torre del Nera, an Albergo Diffuso. A visit to the breathtaking spa in the rock is a particularly good way of finding yourself.

Coming here means discovering yourself.

You have to look for it a bit, the village of Scheggino. Of course, in the age of satnavs, this is no longer such a challenge. Nevertheless, you’re unlikely to pass by here by chance. And that’s probably what makes this village in Umbria so special. If you find your way here, you can relax in peace and quiet, far away from the hustle and bustle: Sit on the riverbank, take a deep breath in the forest, stroll through the small, car-free alleyways over cobblestones, drink coffee, reflect on the Middle Ages or relax in the spa area of the Torre del Nera.

A sensory journey through the simplicity of nature

A Pool and a lot more

You can literally get in touch with nature in the spa. The 400 square metre area was built into the rock and includes several relaxation zones reserved for guests aged 16 and over. The centrepiece is a magnificent heated pool with a temperature between 28° and 32° and arched panoramic windows overlooking the garden terrace, historical charm included.

Let the stress evaporate in the Turkish bath. The Finnish sauna helps to remove toxins from the body, stimulate blood circulation and rejuvenate the skin. Emotional Showers washes away your worries. Massages provide inner balance. The salt room stabilises the body. And in the Relax Area, you can switch off and recharge your batteries. All this in an unspoilt environment in the middle of nowhere.

Here you can get lost in time and space.
