The timeless Bowl Table by Mater combines ancient Indian craftsmanship with the simplicity of Scandinavian design and was created by the Indian designer Ayush Kasliwal.
Sustainable mango wood
The table top is made of black-stained mango wood, which is shaped into the right form by the Kharadi, an ancient Indian wood-turning community. Mater thus supports and honours traditional craftsmanship in India. The Indian mango wood is also a sustainable raw material, because as soon as the useful life of the tree is over and the tree is felled, a new mango tree is planted in its place.

The Bowl Table by Mater is available in four different sizes from small to XL. The three legs of the table are always made of milled tubular steel rods, and the tabletop can be chosen between black and sirka-grey stained or natural mango wood.

Ayush Kasliwal has Graduated & Post Graduated from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and is one of India’s leading design thinkers, practitioners and advocates for artisans. Ayush has been a Panelist, Speaker, Faculty, Jury member, at prestigious national and international forums including ICFF at New York, BBC Arts Hour. His versatility in design is expressed through various projects including hospitality, installations, graphics, products and exhibition. He has been recognized nationally as well as internationally by several prestigious awards, including the LEXUS Design Award 2019, AD 100, Kyoorius Design Award 2019, EDIDA award 2018, 2017, 2013. He has licensed products to MATER, a Danish ethical design house and Edition Nouveau Objet (ENO) and has also collaborated with many architects on projects and installations. He is passionate about Design and Crafts, and incorporates them in all spheres of life.
